Only a few years ago, I wasn’t a watch guy.

My entire time in college and grad school, I had a watch on my wrist exactly zero times. Through my mid-20’s I continued on in this fashion, excusing away my lack of watch appreciation as just simply having no desire to have extra weight hanging on my wrist. It’ll just get in the way. It’ll be uncomfortable. I don’t need a watch.

Then somewhere in my late-20’s, something in my changed. I decided, maybe one watch wouldn’t be a bad thing to have in the dresser drawer. You know, just in case. Fast forward to today, and I’m a watch fanatic. I’ve now collected almost a dozen, from simple and classic silver and brushed steel to sleek jet black to conversation-starting wood watches. I’m always on the hunt for a new, awesome watch; So when I got my hands on a Nation Of Souls piece, I found myself over the moon

Nation Of Souls was founded in 2016 with one simple idea: “Finding the perfect balance of form and function to bring you the most stylish, comfortable watch possible. This is why we are excited to bring you two models, packed with premium features, that you will want to wear every day. As watch wearers ourselves, we know how hard it can be to find the right timepiece. And whilst flashy brands clearly have their place, we wanted to create products that go way beyond mere branding or being just another timepiece. A watch that would be your go to favourite for any occasion – dressing up or down.”

Personally, I’m a fan of simplicity. Typically the more complicated something is, the more features and gadgets, the more buttons and dials, the more it just becomes overwhelming and too convoluted to appreciate. The first thing I fell in love with about Nation Of Souls was that there was no fluff – The design is sleek, simple, and makes a statement, which fits in perfectly with my style.

But their business model was what really hooked me. Their primary aim is to make watches that gave you the quality you would expect from a large brand, but at a price point closer to modern watchmakers. And so they build these bad boys and the watches go direct from them to you without any middlemen causing marked up prices. And this is major, because watches can easily get pricey. While there are plenty of brands that come in under the $100 mark, you’re always aware you’re not getting premium quality, and sometimes that’s ok. But when you want to add some upgraded, finer pieces to your collection, you don’t want to have to take out a loan just to do it. Nation Of Souls solves that issue beautifully by offering top-tier design and style for an extremely affordable price.

Now when they say these watches are versatile, they mean it. I picked up this Argo style blue leather/blue face/silver detail, which was unlike any other timepiece I owned, and I wanted to put it to the test in terms of how far I could push its style boundaries.

My first outing with it was to a wedding – I paired it with a charcoal suit, white shirt, and navy tie. The result was spot on – The watch fit right in with the formal attire, complimented the tie perfectly, and got a handful of compliments throughout the night.

But the real test was dressing it down. Was this timepiece going to work with a simple, casual outfit? The answer was a resounding yes. A black tee, jeans, and white Chuck Taylors might not sound like the outfit you’d expect to wear a watch like this with, but once again, the Nation Of Souls piece was a rockstar. Somehow the same piece that slipped in seamlessly with my suit seemed to nestle right in with a t-shirt and jeans as well.

Needless to say, this watch has become a staple in pretty much any outfit I wear nowadays.

So here’s the breakdown – Nation Of Souls offers two styles: The Argo and The Eclipse. The Argo is, as they describe, “inspired by the magnificent ship that took the Argonauts on their quest for the golden fleece, [The Argo’s] sleek lines and timeless design make this the perfect watch for any occasion.” With this, you get a very streamlined and clean face with a simple design.

The Eclipse retains the simple and sleek feel, but with a few added details, including an inset face and a separate second-hand dial.

It dresses up, it dresses down, it catches eyes, and it comes in at just the right price point. So why buy two watches for two specific types of outfits when you can buy one that fits any occasion? Get yours now at
