Sometimes you have a craving for something sweet, but you don’t want to annihilate your healthy eating habits by crushing a bag of Twix or a bowl of ice cream. So what are we, the health-conscious, clean eating, nutritionally knowledgeable individuals that we are, supposed to do when we need something sweet but want to do it in a healthy way? Well have no fear, because today I’ve got three snacks that are not only going to satiate your sweet tooth, but are going to actually leave you feeling damn good about yourself afterward.

Buff Bake Protein Spread

Buff Bake is pretty much a company founded on the goal of keeping you fit even when your cravings want to derail you. Their protein cookies (see below) are out of this world, and their protein spreads are absolutely awesome.

Birthday cake, coffee bean, chocolate chip, rocky road – the flavors offered are enough to make your mouth water, but wait until you actually taste it. Creamy, rich, and not overpoweringly flavored, these spreads are the perfect addition to any meal. 11g of protein and only 4g of sugar mean you can super charge your morning toast with an extra kick of protein without loading up on sugar.

I especially enjoyed the rocky road spread which is loaded with dry roasted peanuts, all natural hormone-free whey protein, walnuts, and even mini marshmallows. Stock up on these bad boys and make sure your breakfast bagel is never boring again.

Chike Nutrition Powdered Peanut Butter

Chike Nutrition is a company that I’ve really come to love. Their products are not only nutritious and really well balanced in terms of protein, calories, sugar, and fats, but they’re absolutely delicious. The powdered peanut butter is no exception.

If you’re skeptical about how good a powdered peanut butter can be, you’re not alone. I was initially unsure how much I was going to like this product, but I can honestly say it won me over instantly. The instructions are simple; 1 tablespoon of water to every 2 tablespoons of powder, mix, and viola, you’ve got a healthy snack. I found I needed a little more water to really get the peanut butter mixed and creamy, but once I found the right balance, I was in health food snack heaven.

The chocolate peanut butter was especially good – the consistency is creamy and light, and the flavor is really well balanced. It has gentle notes of chocolate under the peanut flavors, and none of it is overpowering, overly sweet, or artificial tasting. It’s smooth, creamy, natural, and really healthy and nutritionally sound. It’s gluten and lactose free, non-GMO, vegan, and is made with 100% USA-grown peanuts, while containing no preservatives, hydrogenated oils, or artificial ingredients. What’s even better is that it boasts 5g of protein per serving to a mere 40 calories, 1g of fat, and 2g of sugar.

Break this out and have it on crackers, toast, or even your favorite pancakes.

Buff Bake Protein Cookies

I always feel like protein cookies are a toss up – they’re either delicious and then you come to find they aren’t that healthy, or they’re exceptionally nutritious and taste like dry wall. Buff Bake has found the perfect balance between the two by creating a protein cookie that not only tastes great but is actually good for you.

They come in a variety of flavors from birthday cake and white chocolate peanut butter to oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. Typically with anything featuring whey protein as its headlining ingredient, there’s the worry that it’s going to have that famous whey after-taste. Not these bad boys; the cookies are moist, sweet without being too sugary or off-putting, and very flavorful. Gluten-free and non-GMO, each cookie has an amazing 16g of protein.

Not only that, an entire cookie will feed you 360 calories, and will help you hit your macronutrient balances by boasting 9 calories of fat per gram and 4 calories of carbs per gram. This one isn’t just a snack, it can really be used as a small meal replacement. Who says you can’t have a cookie for lunch?
